Confusing "Diets" have you lost? Get a Map!
What good is a Goal without a plan? If your goal is to eat better, you NEED a plan/map to get to that there. If you try to wing it, don't be surprised when you get lost.
Have you ever wondered why you feel so empowered after hitting a new personal record or by hitting a weight-loss goal? I mean, who else sees each step and small victory but the person looking in the mirror? Each one of our little victories and struggles builds our confidence and becomes a part of who we are. Most importantly, each victory makes us better prepared to live out our purpose in any place of life.

THE POWER OF A PLAN

"A goal without a plan is just a wish"
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The first step is to recognize that we need help. We need someone with more experience, more know-how, to coach us along the way and to plainly lay out the path we are going to take. Often plans and nutrition programs can be like walking a tightrope.

Altering your diet can be an overwhelming process when you go at it alone. Countless people make goals or resolutions to drop weight, get in shape, or clean up their diet. The casualty rates of these dreams are staggering. Without a plan, it is near impossible to reach these objectives.

A wish written down with a date ends up being a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a strategy. A plan backed by action makes your wishes come true.

TIGHTROPE

Picture
Lots of nutrition programs are devised like a tightrope. Some are all about following a rigorous list of "what not to eat" however they cannot explain the "why."  Even if they did, do you really need to know why you shouldn't eat a Big Mac? Without some flexibility to experiment and explore, how can any real modification be possible? Others provide lots of content and understanding, but fall short when it comes to accountability, community, or benchmarks to keep you on track and to assess your development along the way. Without a supportive community and a structure that enables you to be you. How can you embrace the suck and be transformed from the inside out?

So what does a plan have to do with a tightrope? Think of strolling across a canyon on a tightrope with no security strap. Are your palms sweating? Now imagine doing so in the dark. "Impossible" most likely comes to mind. One slip and all is lost. There is no space for error and definitely not much space for imagination or customization. A tightrope offers one possible path to get from point A to point B with no variance possible or acceptable.
